Local news audiences across the United States hold a profound trust and often form personal bonds with their local NBC stations, where on-air personalities deliver the essential updates that shape their daily lives. With approximately 12 markets under the NBC umbrella—ranging from NBC 4 New York and NBC 7 San Diego to NBC Boston—these stations are more than just broadcasters; they’re community cornerstones. The NBC Local News apps serve as a vital bridge, connecting viewers to top-tier local stories, real-time weather updates, breaking news, and acclaimed investigative journalism, fostering a sense of immediacy and reliability that resonates deeply.

My journey with this project unfolded as a collaborative effort with design and product teams across these U.S. markets, where we crafted a world-class experience tailored for both Android and iOS platforms. Together, we reimagined the app’s interface to reflect the urgency and trustworthiness of local news, ensuring seamless access to live TV and in-depth reporting. This cross-country collaboration highlighted the power of unified creativity, delivering an intuitive and engaging platform that honors the connection between NBC’s audiences and their local stations.
