My role as product design director at Cedar involves guiding the design team through the product design process, from initial ideation to launch and beyond. I work closely with stakeholders, designers, and developers to ensure that the product meets user needs and business requirements, and is positioned effectively in the market.
I’m also responsible for mentoring the design team and improving existing design practices. This involves providing feedback and guidance to designers to help them grow and develop in their roles, as well as identifying areas where our design practices can be improved.
To mentor the design team, I meet regularly with each designer to discuss their work, provide feedback on their designs, and offer guidance on areas for improvement. I also ensure that each designer has access to the resources they need to excel in their roles, such as design tools, training materials, and professional development opportunities.
One of the key benefits is an improvement of collaboration and communication between the design team and the rest of the company. By streamlining our design process, we have been able to provide more detailed and accurate design deliverables to other teams, which has in turn led to better collaboration and a greater understanding of the design process throughout the organization.
